Gerry Dolan qualified from Glasgow University Medical School and held training posts in Internal Medicine and Haematology in Glasgow, Edinburgh and Sheffield before being appointed Consultant Haematologist at Nottingham University Hospitals. He is the head of the Haemostasis & Thrombosis Service in Nottingham.
Dr Dolan has been on the Executive of the United Kingdom Haemophilia Centre Doctors Organisation (UKHCDO) since 1997 and is the current Chairman. He is Past President of the British Society of Haemostasis & Thrombosis (BSHT). He is the Clinical Chair of NHS England’s Clinical Reference Group for Haemophilia. Dr Dolan is the co-chair of the ADVANCE group, a collaboration of European physicians interested in the care of older adults with Haemophilia and is also the chair of the European Haemophilia Therapy Standardisation Board (EHTSB). His interests include Clinical Outcomes in Haemophilia, Older Adults with Haemophilia and molecular aspects of bleeding disorders.
