Kristian Juusola has 20 years of nursing experience, mainly in the paediatric haematology and oncology specialties. He currently serves as a paediatric / haemophilia nurse on the Children’s Haematology and Oncology ward at Oulu University Hospital, Oulu, Finland where he has worked since 2010.
Kristian Juusola has worked in many different healthcare settings, including within education departments, hospital administration, and business centres, as well as at the ward level. In addition to Oulu University Hospital, he has held positions at King Faisal Specialist Hospital, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia; The Children’s Hospital, Helsinki, Finland; King’s College Hospital NHS Trust, London, UK; and Northwick Park NHS Trust, London, UK.
Kristian Juusola is currently also working towards a Masters from the University of Oulu, Oulu, Finland. His research interests include adherence in haemophilia, haemophilia patient’s personalised treatment plans, and Clinical Ethics Services in healthcare.
On top of the EAHAD nursing committee membership, Kristian is a member and current chair of the Clinical Ethics Committee in the paediatric department of Oulu University Hospital. He serves on the board of Nordic Society of Pediatric Oncology Nurses (NOBOS) and as a member of the Working Group of Ethics (WGE) in paediatric oncology, a joint group of the Nordic Society of Paediatric Haematology and Oncology (NOPHO) and NOBOS.
