At the 2017 EAHAD Annual General Meeting held in February in Paris, France, Professor Hervé Chambost was elected to the association’s Executive Committee. We took the opportunity to ask him a few questions to get to know him better and find out what motivated him to become involved.
Where do you work?
I work at La Timone Children’s Hospital and in the Faculty of Medicine Aix Marseille University in Marseille, France. My clinical activity is within the Haemophilia Care Centre, which is part of a large Department of Paediatric Haematology and Oncology.
Do you work with adults, children, or both?
The structure is a paediatric one, but we take care of both children and adults.
What is a typical workday like for you?
Combining care, management, research, and teaching makes every day a unique one!
What is the best thing about your job?
The diversity of the job and the enrichment that comes from teamwork.
What is the most challenging part of your job?
To provide the better care to every patient.
What motivated you to become involved in EAHAD?
Networking, research, and international communication is a good way to improve knowledge and optimise care.
Do you have any advice for young doctors entering the bleeding disorders field?
I would encourage them to share their experiences and not hesitate to get involved in the broader bleeding disorders community.
