Maj Friberg Birkedal is a paediatric haemophilia nurse specialist at Rigshospitalet, University Hospital Haemophilia center in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Maj got her bachelor’s degree in nursing in 2003 and has since worked for more than a decade in emergency care before transitioning to her current position as a specialist nurse for children with bleeding disorders and thrombophilia.
A firm believer of the importance and efficacy of patient education and coaching to improve patient-related care outcomes, she has since educated herself in the field of health coaching, adolescence communication and patient pedagogy.
Her work has given her the opportunity to contribute to the development of standards of care, as well as national patient-related education. In addition, she is a clinical and academic trial coordinator and investigator.
Maj is currently acting chairman of the Danish Association of Haemophilia Nurses.
