Mary Kavanagh qualified as an adult nurse in 1996 and as a sick children’s nurse in 1998. She has worked as a paediatric nurse specialist in haemophilia and allied bleeding disorders since 2001. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Trinity College Dublin in 2000 and has completed the Essentials of Haemophilia Course at Christ Church University Canterbury and the Advances in Haemophilia Nursing Masters module at Sheffield Hallam University.


Mary joined the Nurses Committee of the European Association for Haemophilia and Allied Disorders (EAHAD) in 2017 and was appointed Vice-Chair in February 2018. She was the Committee’s chair from 2018 until 2020.
