Paula Loughnane works as a Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist in Paediatric Haematology Oncology at Children’s Health Ireland at Crumlin, Dublin, Ireland. She graduated with an honours degree in Physiotherapy from University of Dublin, Trinity College Dublin in 2002. She has a special interest in Musculoskeletal Health, Physical Activity levels and Inhibitors in young people with bleeding disorders.
Memberships include the Haemophilia Chartered Physiotherapists Association (HCPA), European Association for Haemophilia and Allied Disorders (EAHAD) and World Federation of Haemophilia (WFH). She also serves as the regional coordinator for Ireland for EAHAD’s European Physiotherapists Network. Paula was the first ever recipient of Specialist Membership of the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists in the area of Paediatrics.
Presentations at professional conferences include the Association of Paediatric Chartered Physiotherapists (UK), Haemophilia Chartered Physiotherapists Association (HCPA), and Allied Health Professionals programme at the EAHAD Congress. Paula has also presented education sessions and workshops for young people with bleeding disorders and their parents, in conjunction with the Irish Haemophilia Society. Paula is a regular guest lecturer on third level BSc Physiotherapy programmes, and postgraduate Nursing programmes.
